WORLD’S LARGEST AND FLAWLESS BLUE DIAMOND

WORLD’S LARGEST AND FLAWLESS BLUE DIAMOND TO FETCH UP
TO $25 MILLION AT GENEVA AUCTION

The fancy vivid blue pear-shaped diamond with internal flawless clarity ‘The Blue’ will take centre stage at the annual Christie’s Magnificient Jewels sale to be held next month at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geveva.

The blue diamond weighing approximately 13.22 carats is the largest flawless blue diamond in the world. It is also flanked on either side by a pear-shaped diamond, weighing approximately 1.00 and 0.96 carat. Christie auction describes it as “the largest fancy vivid blue diamond in the world.”
The auction house has not revealed the diamond’s owner to keep the private seller anonymous.

The Blue is expected to rake in approximately $25 million. When the world’s largest orange diamond, a 14.82-carat gem called “The Orange”, went under the hammer last November at Christie’s, it raked in $35.5 million compared to its $17-20 million price tag.
